Alongside the OnePlus Nord N10 5G, the brand also announced its entry in the budget segment of smartphones with Nord N100.
The OnePlus Nord was an adequate relief from hefty flagship prices, but it was still a mid-tier flagship device. However, the Nord N100 is the firm’s entry to smartphones’ budget segment with significant budget cuts.
OnePlus Nord N100 gives you the freedom to play all day.
In other words, OnePlus Nord N100 packs a 5000 mAh battery. It also has 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage, and a 6.52 inch screen — everything you need to play games and watch movies wherever you are.— OnePlus UK (@OnePlus_UK) October 26, 2020
OnePlus Nord N100: Specifications
The design of the Nord N100 is the same as the Nord N10 5G. It features a fingerprint sensor on the back since it has a 6.52” IPS LCD panel.
It has a prominent chin towards the bottom edge of the phone. But unlike the Nord N10 5G, the Nord N100 has a standard refresh rate.
OnePlus decided to focus on the battery for the said model; It features a massive 5,000 mAh battery. Unfortunately, the Nord N100 comes with only 18W charging.
Furthermore, the budget-oriented N100 has stereo speakers and a 3.5mm audio jack for a better entertainment experience.
However, according to a report by Android Authority, the Nord N100 loses a lot on the camera front. A 13MP primary sensor powers the rear panel, and it does not have an ultra-wide camera. The remaining two cameras on the N100 are macro and depth sensors, so the onus of photography would be on the primary sensor.
Since OnePlus does not have software optimization like Apple or Google, it would be safe to assume that the device’s photography would be fairly basic.
The phone has a basic Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 chipset, which is a decent offering for its price. However, the Snapdragon 460 does not support 5G connectivity.
One of the most shocking deductions has been the alert slider in this device, which has been a constant for OnePlus phones for a long time.
Configuration
The Nord N100 is only available in a single configuration of 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. However, much like the Nord N10 5G, the Nord N100 has an expandable memory of 256GB.
As of now, the official website of OnePlus shows only the Midnight Frost color.
Pricing and Availability
The Nord N100 starts at £179 in the UK and €200 in Europe. To date, the Nord N100 is available in only the two regions mentioned. The product faces a launching date of November 10, 2020.
Meanwhile, the brand gears for the launch of its new devices in the US, but the deal is yet to be unveiled. In the meantime, tech junkies from the States will have to wait for the official launch of the OnePlus mid-range device.
