The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has recently confirmed OnePlus Z. However, the flagship phone will bear a different name once it hits the market.
The upcoming flagship device from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is covered in mystery. OnePlus has since kept its silence regarding specs, and even the name, of its upcoming flagship phone. So far, the only confirmed detail is that it has a codename OnePlus Z.
Now that OnePlus has confirmed the existence of its flagship phone, many are wondering what its official name is. Some speculations claim it will hit the market like the OnePlus 8 Lite, while others claim it will be the OnePlus Nord.
An affordable flagship smartphone
OnePlus has built its brand on bringing high-end devices at a very competitive price. Its previous flagship smartphones are some of the best-selling in the category. The company is starting to carve up its niche in the smartphone market.
Speculations about the upcoming OnePlus Z has been circulating in the tech community for quite a while now. The company has only provided quite a handful of hints to give fans a clue of what to expect.
Considering the current state of the smartphone market, it will come as no surprise if the OnePlus Z supports 5G. Almost every flagship device to hit the market recently is 5G compatible.

The flagship smartphone is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset. It has an octa-core processor and an Adreno 620 graphics processing unit. The phone is also expected to run on Android 10 with a custom OxygenOS on top.
In terms of memory, the phone should support up to 6GB of RAM and storage space of up to 128GB. It is still unknown whether the phone will support microSD memory cards for storage expansion.
With regards to the camera, the smartphone is rumored to have a three-camera setup on the back. These camera configurations should include 64MP wide, 16MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro. On the front-end, there will be a single 16MP wide camera sensor.
Cryptic hint on the release date
Recently, OnePlus opened an Instagram account and has since shared four posts. One of the posts features just a black background with some cryptic message in the middle.
Eagle-eyed fans were quick to recognize it as a Morse Code, and when decrypted, it means “July.” This led many fans to believe that the OnePlus Z will hit the market next month.
