OPPO A53 arrives for pre-order, full spec sheet revealed

Among the confirmed, key features of the OPPO A53 are a 90Hz LCD, a 5,000mAh battery, with support for 18W fast wired charging, and the Snapdragon 460 chip.

Only days after rumors indicated that a new phone called OPPO A53 was in the works, the smartphone suddenly appeared for pre-order in Indonesia. Spotted on Lazada, a popular online retailer in the Southeast Asia region, the phone’s full spec sheet, alongside its renders and price tag, was also revealed.

90Hz LCD with rear triple cameras

Accordingly, the OPPO A53 will arrive with a 6.5-inch LCD panel with an HD+ resolution and a high 90Hz refresh rate. The screen will also sport a tall 20:9 aspect ratio.

Additionally, the phone’s display will feature a single cutout placed in the upper left corner of the panel. In it, a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture is confirmed to reside.

Talking about cameras, the OPPO A53’s rear camera setup was also revealed on the pre-order listing. The phone is set to feature triple lenses on its back and will be headlined by a 13MP sensor. The other two will have 2MP modules in them. Now, while the official listing didn’t reveal their configurations, it is expected that the one is a micro, while the other will be used for depth-sensing.

The OPPO A53’s battery is also listed. As per the listing, the device will be working on a massive 5,000mAh battery, with support for 18W fast wired charging via a USB Type-C port.

The OPPO A53 also has some headline-grabbing internals. The phone is the first to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 460 chipset with octa-core CPU and Adreno 610 for its GPU needs. The phone is then confirmed to be coupled with 4GB of RAM, while its storage is 64GB. The latter is also expandable through the phone’s microSD card slot up to 256GB of extra storage.

Pricing and availability

The phone retails for IDR 2,499,000 (around USD 170). It can be pre-ordered in two color variants – Electric Black and Fancy Blue.

Currently, Lazada is gathering pre-orders of the OPPO A53 and has promised that the shipping will be conducted the day after the end of the campaign, which is on Thursday, next week.

The OPPO A53 is also scheduled to launch in the Indian market on August 25. OPPO is yet to reveal its plans on releasing the phone to other markets.
