OPPO’s newest mid-range entry is slated to launch alongside the recently-minted A52 in the European markets.
OPPO has officially launched the A72, yet another mid-range smartphone from its now-growing “A” series. Currently, the phone serves as the fourth entrant from the lineup to be released, following the A92s, A52, and A12.
The OPPO A72 shares some hardware features with the A52, but also boasts some distinctive specifications of its own.
OPPO A72 and A52 similarities
Both the OPPO A72 and A52 share the same 6.5-inch screen with 1080+ resolution, tipped to be an LCD display. Both are also powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 chipset, which is coupled with 4GB of RAM.
Additionally, the OPPO A72 and A52 sport a quad-camera setup on their back panels, all of which are housed in a rectangular camera module. Also, both phones feature a 3.5mm headphone jack, right on the bottom.

Why the OPPO A72 is superior

In contrast, the A52 only has 12MP on its. The rest of their camera configurations – an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro cam, and a 2MP depth sensor – all remain the same.
There’s also a differencing residing in both the punch-holes of the OPPO A72 and A52. The former sports a 16MP front-facing camera, while the latter boasts an 8MP selfie snapper.
The same can be said when it comes to the OPPO A72’s storage offerings. On paper, it has doubled its built-in storage, right at 128GB. Nevertheless, both support storage expansions via their microSD card slots.
The OPPO A72 also runs on ColorOS 7.1 based on the latest Android 10.0.
Apart from the OPPO A12, OPPO A92s, and OPPO A52, OPPO has also simultaneously announced a slew of Find X2 variants in Europe – the OPPO Find X2 Lite and OPPO Find X2 Neo.
Unlike the OPPO A52, which is now confirmed for a CNY 1,600 pricing in China, the Euro price of the OPPO A72 remains to be revealed.
There is no word yet as to when and where the OPPO A72 will become available. But since the phone, alongside the A52, is already pegged for a German launch, it is likely that both phones will soon be released in other European countries
