The OPPO K7 5G succeeds the Snapdragon 730G-fueled OPPO K5 phone that was launched in 2019.
OPPO has quietly unveiled the OPPO K7 5G in China. OPPO’s latest smartphone is also the newest entry in its mid-range portfolio. Succeeding last year’s OPPO K5, the phone is bringing many “firsts” in the series, apart from the critical 5G connectivity feature.
AMOLED screen with a 32MP selfie camera
The OPPO K7 5G features a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and 430 nits of typical brightness. A fifth-generation Corning Gorilla Glass also protects the display. The phone’s screen is also embedded with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The smartphone, which measures 160.3 x 74.3 x 7.96mm, weighs 180 grams.
OPPO has also employed a notch on the device, housing a single 32-megapixel selfie snapper. Around its back, the phone has a quadruple-camera setup, front-lined by a 48MP sensor. The vertically-aligned sensors also comprise of 8MP ultrawide and two 2MP macro and depth lenses.
Snapdragon 765G chip
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G chipset also powers OPPO’s mid-range smartphone. The 5G-enabled octa-core processor also features Adreno 620 for the smartphone’s needs on graphics.
The handset is then paired with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage options. The handset is listed with a 4,025mAh battery, with support for 30W VOOC 4.0 fast wired charging.
Some of the device’s connectivity features include a dual SIM slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C. The OPPO K7 5G runs on ColorOS 7 UI, based on the latest Android 10.
The OPPO K7 5G also has gaming-oriented features in tow. At the helm is the Hyper Boost 3.0, which should improve its overall gaming performance. There is also the Link Boost 2.0 feature, which uses both the 5G network and Wi-Fi connection simultaneously to offer beefed-up network speeds.

Pricing and availability
The base 8GB/128GB variant of the OPPO K7 5G is priced at CNY 1,999, while the 8GB/256GB model retails for CNY 2,299. Both versions are now up for pre-order in China via JD.com. The device is set to go on sale on August 11.
At the time of this writing, OPPO hasn’t shared yet about the handset’s international availability.
The OPPO K7 5G retails in five color variants – Sea Night (Blue), Mystery Black, Flow Flame (gradient red), Flowing Cloud (gradient white), and Perak Lemon (gradient yellow). OPPO has also recently released the OPPO Reno4 and Reno4 Pro.
