Fans are buzzing over Reddit this weekend as Blizzard picks a couple of Overwatch characters to be included in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC.
With the recent Nintendo gigaleaks that sprouted on the Internet last week, it looks like there might be more news coming our way. While most gamers are anticipating third-party video game characters to appear in the next DLC, it looks like Overwatch has joined the bandwagon.
Blizzard developers vouching for Tracer
A fan posted a question in Blizzard’s AMA Reddit thread:
“If there was an Overwatch representative for Super Smash Bros who would be the most well fit for it?”
Luckily, Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan noticed the question, and he answered Tracer, which is the main cover character in their game title.
In addition, Geoff Goodman, the game’s lead hero designer, suggested that Doomfist could also be fit for the Nintendo title. However, some of the fans suggested that he may become a clone for Little Mac since they have similar abilities.
However, Nintendo has reported that after the DLC update, they may not add more characters anymore.
Nintendo has something else in store
Nintendo released a game trial for Pokken Tournament DX available until August 4, and some fans are already speculating that Pokemon might be included in the last DLC update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the Switch.
The upcoming Nintendo Direct is also being speculated by users over at Resetera to be scheduled this month.
Only then we shall see which character fans are going to expect for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It will be a surprise if Nintendo does announce an Overwatch character out of nowhere.
