The Nintendo Switch is once again getting a major release in a few days with Paper Mario: The Origami King finally launching. As the wait becomes shorter, players become more impatient, and they want to get their hands on the game ASAP.
Paper Mario: The Origami King is the next installment in the popular RPG franchise. The previous entry in the Wii U wasn’t as well received as other titles, but fans have high hopes for the upcoming Switch exclusive. Nintendo has given us another look at the game, just a few days ahead of the release.
Mario’s wildest adventure yet
The new trailer doesn’t say much in terms of new information, but it does give us a look at some of the things we can see in the game. Perhaps the most interesting of the new reveals is a Phoenix like creature that Mario and his crew might face as a boss in the game.
According to previous trailers from the game, the upcoming Paper Mario title will have unique and memorable boss fights. It’s going to be one of the defining features of the upcoming game. It will be exciting to see the role that the Phoenix plays in the upcoming Paper Mario: The Origami King.
Other gameplay features
It was recently revealed that the game would feature an open-world that Mario can explore. This is certainly a first for the franchise, which the reason why players are all riled up over it.
Perhaps the most exciting of the features we’ve seen so far is the game’s unique battle system. Previous Paper Marios had basic turn-based combat with only a few variations per entry. In the upcoming game, the game still takes on a turn-based approach to battles, but the changes are much more imminent.
When a match starts, Mario will be put in the center of an arena. His enemies will be placed across grids in a circle randomly. Players will have to lineup the enemies for certain bonuses. The catch is that there’s a time limit that players will have to meet, so they have to think and act fast.
Paper Mario: The Origami King launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on July 17. It’s going to launch the same day as Ghost of Tsushima, so owners of both consoles have quite the decision in front of them. One thing’s for sure, this upcoming entry in the Paper Mario series is going to be enjoyed by fans.
