South Korean actress Park Shin Hye appeared in an online interview and talked about her new film Call.
Upcoming movie Call is a new mystery thriller film. It talks about the story of two women living in different times where events unfold when connected through a phone call. The two women were Park Shin Hye portraying the role of Seo Yeon.
The actress’s role is a woman who is trying to change the past. The other is Jeon Jong Seo playing as Young Sook, a woman trying to change the future.
Other stars in the film were Lee El, Kim Sung Ryung, Oh Jung Se, Pak Ho San, Lee Dong Hwi, and more.
A breath from a typical storyline
Park Shin Hye shared that the film is female-driven rather than the typical stories about a man and a woman relationship.
She thought of it as a well-made film that is also well-produced. It is a story wherein women firmly lead their places with their independent opinions.
She also added that the film is charming for the four women characters who worked together very well.
There are many projects about time that characters usually turn back to have no regrets. They also talked about stories that result after turning around.
Park Shin Hye needs to portray a wide range of emotions in the movie as for the role of Seo Yeon. With this, the actress revealed worrying about her character.
She said she was too accommodating when Young Sook controlled her and could not show a different side of herself like before.
She thought about displaying an independent perspective to Young Sook rather than dragged along like the other lead female.
Building up emotions on demanding scripts
The actress on the talk shared about her cursing scenes. She said that her emotions build up while acting.
After encouraging her feelings, she immersed herself in the situation rather than feel uncomfortable.
Park Shin Hye also talked about longing for diverse female characters. She said many female actresses felt the same way she does.
The actress thought about the topics could bring a broad audience leaning too much to one side when targeting the film market.
She also shared that if there are no opportunities, the situation will stay the same. Many people are endlessly getting on the challenge and thought that they also took part in it through “Call.” She hopes for opportunities to increase and broaden the field, like the film’s story.
Director Lee Choong Hyun helmed the film, who also produced the short film, Bargain. The movie sets to release on November 27.
