Word on the street is Party Animals is taking Twitch by storm. The gaming community might be seeing another gaming phenomenon to unleash.
Dexerto observed the Twitch domination slowly being led by Party Animals. The game has a similar appeal to the now super-loved Fall Guys. By the looks of it, it might also enter the same faith.
What is the Party Animals game?
Party Animals is an indie game as well, from ReCreate Games. It is a very adorable and interactive game, which lets users play as “puppies, kittens and other fuzzy creatures.” It is entertainingly chaotic, that lets friends “paw it out” online and offline.
It has a “realistic physics engine.” As Dexerto described, the game is a:
“[P]hysics-based multiplayer game that sees you brawl with your friends in an attempt to hurl them off the side of various different platforms.”
The in-game graphics are definitely great. The way the characters move is somewhat similar to Fall Guys, but they’re fuzzier. Also, the characters generate cloud dust when they try to run towards or away from other players.
The game offers different fuzzy characters, from a cute classic Corgie, to a one-eyed tie-weary cat, and even a thug-looking crocodile with bling.
The main goal in this game is to be the last cute animal standing. Players can battle out in different maps and of different modes, per its website.
Just like Among Us, the game has been live for a while now but it is just getting noticed recently. Although Party Animals is still not technically released, a demo of it is currently available on Steam.
The first PC demo of the game was launched on June 17 and ended sometime on June 22, when the Steam Festival ended. Nevertheless, ReCreate decided to re-open its Beta, by handing out a second demo, which “includes new maps, new weapons, new characters and an even challenging tutorial.”
The second demo started on October 4, 9 a.m. PST, and will end on October 13, 10 a.m. PST.
Coming to other consoles?
Currently, the game is just available on PC. With the game finally getting noticed, other players are hoping Party Animals will come to other consoles too, like PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
Per GameRant, the game reached a total of “110,000 concurrent players over the weekend.” Similar to the other titles this year, becoming an unexpected hit, the servers were overwhelmed by the number of players.
That said, the game crashed entirely. This only goes to show how popular the game is expected to be, which means the imminent demand for console ports.
Fortunately, ReCreate confirmed the game’s release for consoles as well. It is still slated for a late 2020 release.
