Perez Hilton was sorry that he condemned Johnny Depp and believed in Amber Heard’s lies and not in his exes’ statements.
Perez Hilton was among those who slammed the Johnny Depp after Amber Heard’s allegations. The Aquaman star claimed that her ex-husband was abusive and violent. However, the American blogger had a change of heart after Heard’s audio confession leaked.
Perez Hilton apologized to Depp
Earlier this year, Perez Hilton uploaded a video on YouTube apologizing to Johnny Depp. He also shared his feelings towards Amber Heard.
“I really questioned her credibility, I questioned her motives, I questioned everything,” Hilton said.
“I feel like I owe Johnny Depp another apology,” he added.
What convinced Hilton that Heard was lying was the leaked recording with Heard admitting to hitting Depp. She also confessed that she started their fights.
“I want to apologize to Johnny Depp for not believing all of the other women in his life,” Hilton explained.
“Typically, usually men who are violent, historically they are violent in multiple relationships.”
He repeatedly apologized to Depp and explained that it was difficult to apologize because, for him, he felt like he didn’t “believe in women.”
“Historically women who do make allegations like this do not lie, okay,” he added.
‘Me Too’ activist also dropped support for Amber Heard
Amanda de Cadenet, a Me Too activist, was among the first who supported Heard. However, just like Hilton, she had a change of heart.
According to de Cadenet, she also believed Heard because she felt that “it is my fundamental position to believe womxn who speak up about domestic or sexual assault.”
However, just recently, she released a statement saying that she won’t be supporting Heard for Johnny Depp’s case against The Sun.
Depp sued the outlet for calling him “woman beater.” Heard is part of the legal case to support the tabloid.
De Cadenet confessed that her mind about Heard changed after hearing her abusive language towards Depp. In fact, she contacted Heard’s lawyer to talk to the actress.
“I texted Robbie Kaplan, Amber’s attorney, and let her know I needed to speak with her urgently. When we spoke, I told her I was appalled and shocked to hear how Amber was speaking to Johnny and that it was not ok with me.”
Depp’s exes supported him
Prior to marrying Amber Heard, Johnny Depp was in a relationship with several women, including Winona Ryder and Vanessa Paradis.
Both released a statement dismissing Heard’s claims that Depp was abusive and violent.
“Through all these years I’ve known Johnny to be a kind, attentive, generous, and non-violent person and father,” Paradis said (via Daily Mail). “He was never violent or abusive to me.”
“I cannot wrap my head around (Ms Heard’s) accusations,” Ryder said in her statement. “He was never, never violent towards me. He was never, never abusive at all towards me.”
