Piers Morgan disclosed that after his COVID-19 scare, his family, unfortunately, got struck by the virus for real.
It has been months since Piers Morgan first got a COVID-19 scare. But this time, he felt afraid for real after his parents both tested positive for the virus.
In April 2020, the Good Morning Britain Presenter suffered from a health scare after assuming that he got infected.
He showed obvious symptoms in multiple GMB episodes. Fortunately, he underwent tests on May 5 and found out that he was negative for the virus.
However, he faced new hardships again after both his parents contracted the disease.

He’s never afraid to voice his opinions and today @piersmorgan joins Phillip and Holly to discuss the topics of 2020 that baffle him most – from veganism to ‘cancel culture’ – as well as the unfolding pandemic.

In the recent episode of GMB, the 55-year-old journalist confirmed that his mother and stepfather, Gabrielle and Glynne Pughe-Morgan, both suffered from the disease.
“I’d like to say something to my parents, they are both battling COVID and have been for two weeks and it’s a scary thing for a family,” he said.
He also confirmed that the two are already in recovery after first complaining about the loss of taste and smell.
Currently, both his parents are already 70 years old. This makes them more vulnerable to the disease.
“They got it two weeks ago from someone in their bubble and they had to go out and they were very sensible but got the virus and then bang it was like dominoes,” he went on.
COVID-19 claiming lives
Although he himself got tested negative, Piers witnessed how heartbreaking it would be to lose someone because of it.
To recall, his GMB co-star Kate Garraway’s husband is still in the hospital after getting the dreaded disease since March.
So while conversing on Monday, Garraway tried hard not to shed tears while recalling what happened before.
“Way back in April when we chatted for the first time, and I said, “look, he seems to have survives so far, so I know I already have my miracle,” she said. “But now I’m praying for the second miracle, and that is for him to come back to us.”
She also disclosed that her husband’s doctors and nurses treat him as if he is conscious while in a coma. Recently, he finally said the word “pain,” and everyone in the room heard it.
Garraway then described how painful it could be to him to be stuck in such a situation because of COVID-19.
Currently, the GMB still airs their episodes while following safety protocols.
