Piers Morgan reveals ‘Good Morning Britain’ return offer following exit

Piers Morgan slams Ellen DeGeneres

Piers Morgan revealed that Good Morning Britain recently contacted him for his potential return after he exited the show.

More opportunities come to Piers Morgan now as Good Morning Britain tries to win him back despite his recent comments.

Morgan himself revealed to The Sun that the GMB executives contacted him to return to the show. Per the journalist, the team reached out to him already.

In March, he dropped controversial comments about Meghan Markle. Despite that, he refused to issue an apology though it became a major reason behind his departure.

Even now, the 56-year-old presenter does not regret her statements against the Duchess of Sussex.

Amid the offer, Morgan slammed the Sussexes and said that both Prince Harry and Meghan should be stripped of their royal titles. According to him, the couple keeps on “trashing the institution and causing a lot of damage.”

“I think they should be stripped of their titles because they’re trashing the institution and causing a lot of damage in the Commonwealth where a lot of the countries are believing this racism crap,” he went on.

Why GMB Wants Morgan Back

Since Morgan’s exit, the show noticeably lost over a million viewers these past months.

In April alone, Mirror estimated that the ITV talk show’s ratings dropped to 0.86 million viewers from the 1.89 viewers when Morgan left the set. This gives BBC breakfast to gain more ratings.

On Bank Holiday Monday, the rival show got more than two million viewers while GMB only got a small percentage of it. Since his departure, several presenters already took over his place including Adil Ray, Ben Shephard, and Alex Beresford.

Meanwhile, he stood firm when he left the show, expressing his disbelief over Meghan’s claims about racism and suicidal thoughts. Following his exit, Morgan said that he became a victim of cancel culture.

In a lengthy social media post, he said that he will always stand his ground for the things he believes to be true and right.

“And now I’ve lost my job at Good Morning Britain because I chose not to apologise for disbelieving Meghan Markle’s claims in her interview with Oprah Winfrey,” he said.

He then highlighted the cancel culture in the country just because he would not apologize at all. Still, he noted that he does not consider himself as a victim or a canceled person.

Morgan has not clarified yet whether he would come back to the show already or not.
