It looks like the PlayStation 5 will indeed be launching on November 13. However, this rumor is applicable at least in the United States and Canada, according to another Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War leak.
As many expect, the PlayStation 5 is two months away from its official release. But not until today. No, we don’t have any inside information; we’re just working off our expectations and rumors. We only based this data on articles we’ve read over the past few weeks.
As reported by Push Square, Sony has booked significant marketing spend for the week commencing November 13 in the UK. This suggests that the company may have a new platform launch in the pipeline.
So is there a chance the PS5 could be delayed? Well, the manufacturer claims that the release date of the most-awaited game console will not be extended. However, executives are always going to toe the corporate line until the message changes.
As of now, the tech giant says it’s on track for Holiday 2020. And while we’re yet to hear anything to contradict that, we have to believe their claims.
“Holiday 2020” traditionally refers to the time leading up to Christmas time, practically the fourth quarter of the calendar year. This season is where “Late 2020” will likely mean within the last months of the year.
A keen-eyed Twitter user by the name of Riaan van Wyk spotted the notice at the end of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War trailer. The video indicates the release date for the US and Canada will be different from that of the rest of the world.
It reads “PS5 coming Holiday 2020: US and Canada” and adding “PS5 coming late 2020: Rest of the World”.
Of course, this could be a mistake from the part of Activision Blizzard. It may be a simple placeholder put in place and not removed from the trailer of the game.
Whether it is accurate or just a mistake, many rumors believe that PS5 will not make it to the November 13 release.
However, there are a few things worth keeping in mind: there were roughly six weeks between the Nintendo Switch’s blowout event and its release date. More importantly, the House of Mario adopted that strategy outside of a global pandemic; we’re currently slap-banging inside the middle of one.
