Sony had just unveiled its latest entry into the LittleBigPlanet series with Sackboy: A Big Adventure, which appears to be a rebranding of its popular platforming franchise, bound for the PlayStation 5.
As part of the Sony Future of Gaming livestream, Sackboy: A Big Adventure showcases a trailer video. Giving audiences an idea of what to expect about the game as it goes to further development.

Exploring the Great Beyond
Sackboy is LittleBigPlanet’s iconic protagonist, which, true to its name, is an anthropomorphic figure made of a sack.
Originally a tandem project for the series between developers, Media Molecule and Sumo Digital, Sackboy is solely in the hands of Sumo Digital. A company with a vast and prolific profile than Media Molecule, including the Forza Horizon series and last year’s Mortal Kombat 11.
Unlike previous installments that saw an emphasis on level creations, Sackboy seems to be focusing on the platformer aspect. It means that, more than ever, the game will be heavily oriented towards clever platforming elements.

Possibly, with the idea of taking advantage of the new hardware’s capability. Something that we have previously seen in LittleBigPlanet PS Vita when it taps on the hardware’s touchscreen capability.
With that in mind, it seems that the devs are keen to pitting their latest creation against Mario Odyssey. A Nintendo Switch-exclusive title that saw massive acclaim as a full 3D platformer among audiences. That is also given by the fact that the series, for the first time, is going full 3D, instead of “2.5D.”
Action Platformer at its Finest
Like Mario, Sackboy is not just all about jumps and getting from point A to point B. The game also has special highlights on enemies, too. One that we have seen in the trailer, which Sackboy tries to desperately evade and/or attack, including the inevitable bosses.
Making for a comeback with the game is the 4-player co-op gameplay, which lets friends play simultaneously together. Other gameplay elements, such as the jumping pads and the hook, make for another welcome returns as well.
Sackboy may be the protagonist of the game, but it doesn’t mean that it does not have a place for an additional character. Playing as a female counterpart to Sackboy is the purple anthropomorphic figure, presumably “Sackgirl.”
It is not certain whether this female-looking humanoid is a new figure altogether or a custom-design for Sackboy. But, seeing a new character to feature in the game makes for quite a refreshing flair to it.
