Get your wallet ready, PlayStation 5 could be available today. PS5 pre-orders could go live today, revealing the long-awaited price and release date of the next-gen console.
Sony has not revealed the exact price of their upcoming game console yet. However, analyst predictions have put the PS5 amount in the range of $499 / £449 / AU$749.
It sounds about right because breaking the $500 mark would make the PlayStation 5 a tough sell. The most expensive PlayStation game video console launch to date in North America was the PS3 at almost $600.
Setting the price at $100 more than the PS4 but $100 less than the PS3 feels right since PS5 will have a great feature in a compact design.
PlayStation 5 price and pre-orders
As reported by Tom’s Guide, Amazon’s PS5 pre-order page went live earlier today. However, there’s still no option to purchase the console, nor is there any price or release date listed on the page.
The PS5’s price and release date are still a mystery, but we could learn them both very soon. If you check leakers on Twitter, you will notice two outstanding PS5 predictors have pegged pre-orders to begin today. But it’s not official, and there’s no real evidence beyond their claims.
The information comes in tweets from two PS5 prominent leakers on Twitter: IronManPS5 and Roberto Serrano.
IronManPS5 is a famous PlayStation fan; Roberto Serrano is an Italian analyst. Both have slightly and accurately called the dates and times of PlayStation events in the past.
Another leak comes from Tom Henderson of ViralJunkie, claiming that the PlayStation 5 will cost $499 US and £449, with a Nov. 20 worldwide release date. This likely would put Sony’s next video console digital edition at around $550 or higher.

What to expect
We’ve already seen the design of PS5, as well as the games line-up, which includes Horizon Forbidden West and Demon’s Souls. We are also aware that the console will wear a range of impressive-sounding features such as ray-tracing, a super-fast SSD, a built-in 4K Blu-ray player, and backward compatibility with a vast swathe of the PS4’s gaming catalog.
Lead system architect Mark Cerny also provided us with more information regarding PlayStation 5’s system architecture. According to the claims, the technical inner workings of the PS5 will be extra compared to the existing consoles. It will have an AMD Zen 2-based CPU with eight cores at 3.5GHz, 16GB of GDDR6 memory as well as a custom RDNA 2 AMD GPU that puts out 10.28 TFLOPs of processing power.
