PlayStation has given an update, indicating that it may release more game titles for the “Play at Home” program. Indeed, this is good news for PS4 and PS VR gamers.
PlayStation and free games
PlayStation has announced that it has an update which will come soon to the community. Many suspect it to be the arrival of much more game titles to PS4 under the Play at Home program.
Play at Home program is an initiative introduced by the console maker to encourage gamers to stay home. During this pandemic, gaming is one of the few industries which had massive growth.
This initiative by Sony has garnered an excellent response from gamers. This has also helped PS4 gamers to pass the time with their console till they buy a new one.
This Play at Home program started in March with ten free game titles, included first-party titles such as Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Ratchet, and Clank.
It also had some of the smash indie titles, such as The Witness. This program excited the players when it included the acclaimed survival title Subnautica.

Other services of Sony
Sony also highlighted the Funimation (Wakanim), an anime-based subscription service, and it is a joint venture of Sony pictures entertainment and Aniplex.
This subscription service concentrates on My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Attack on Titan, and Fruits Basket. These titles are available to consumers by an extended trial available till April 22, 2021.
Fans and critics have been unable to guess the next announcement for the Play at Home program. This is because the titles released till now are much diverse. So, there is no solid guess whether it will be a first-party title or an indie release.
But, some have guessed that it will be an indie title to highlight the excellent work of such developers.
Sony recently created ripples in the gaming community with an announcement. The company pledged $10 million for creative funding. Jim Ryan, the CEO and the president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said that this funding would support indie developers. He also stated that they are “vital to the heart and soul of the gaming community.”
