In line with the release of the Remote Raid Passes, Niantic is restoring Legendary Pokemons, which players might have had seen previously.
Pokemons such as Altered Forme Giratina, Darkrai, and Virizion are going to make re-appearances. The aforementioned Pokemons are going to be accessible via five-star Raid battles.

A Shiny Legendary
Previous show up of the said the Legendaries were only limited to their ‘normal’ form. However, in this new re-rollout, players will get a chance to see any of the Pokemon in their ‘shiny’ form.
To the uninitiated, a ‘shiny’ version of a Pokemon is one that has a unique color scheme to it. Furthermore, ‘shiny’ counterparts of any Pokemon are technically stronger than normal ones, based on stats.
Of the three Legendaries, Darkrai will make the first appearance. This will see the pitch-black monster’s chance appearance in Raid battles from April 28 to May 5, 2020.
Following Darkrai’s exit would be the re-appearance of Altered Forme Giratina and will last until May 12, 2020.
Lastly, succeeding Giratina would be Virizion, but will only until May 19, 2020.

Remote Raid Passes
With the introduction of the Remote Raid Passes, players can now challenge monsters, including the Legendaries mentioned earlier, remotely. That is, without needing to physically travel to the actual site of the gym.
Remote Raid Passes, however, are not free. But players can easily access them by buying them off at Pokemon GO’s in-game store. Players who are interested in buying the item could do so by paying a special currency called PokeCoin. For a limited period, Niantic is also hosting a sale of many more Remote Raid Passes for only 100 PokeCoins.
Adding into the fun of having to re-encounter Legendaries, Niantic is also rolling out questlines exclusive throughout May. For a limited time, players would be able to engage in the ‘Throwback Challenge’ questlines.
Other Exciting Surprises
There are four unique questlines available for players during the entirety of the event. Each questline will run specifically to a unique region in the game. Upon completion of all four questlines, a new and last questline will emerge. This fifth questline will give players access to one of Pokemon GO’s mythical monster, Genesect.
To make each questline be as exciting to players as possible, Niantic will ensure an abundance of monster spawns in each area. In addition, players will also get a chance to come across shiny versions of the Pokemon in the field.
Lastly, from June 3 to 8, Pokemon GO will be debuting Galarian form monsters into the game.
