Event Schedule
The Sinnoh Throwback event will start on May 22 and will end on May 29. Start and end dates will be at 1p.m. local time.
Shiny Glameow
The shiny form of Glameow is debuting in the Sinnoh Throwback event. The cat Pokemon will have its normal color changed from blue-gray to bright pink.
Glameow’s shiny form will have high encounter rates for the duration of the event and can also be found when hatching 7-km eggs.
In-game bonus
Trainers will be granted 1-hr Star Piece extended durations. This means trainers can earn more stardusts. In addition, incenses will also last for an hour.
Lucky eggs, which boost player experience gains, will also have its duration extended to an hour.
Fifth Timed Research
Once players have completed all the timed research tasks, all they have to do is to wait for the special Throwback challenge to be unlocked.
Players who have completed all of the Throwback Challenges for the past four weeks will unlock the fifth Timed Research in the first week of June.
Those who have not completed the tasks but want to get the rewards will have to buy a special ticket to join the final week of the Throwback Challenge.
However, players must take note that the tickets will involve paying real money and not Pokecoins.
Free events
There are free events that can be attended by anyone, even if they haven’t availed the event tickets. The free events confirmed by Niantic are:
- Galarian Stunfisk will start appearing in the wild and in Raid Battles
- The Galarian form of Zigzagoon, Meowth and Darumaka can be hatched from 7-km eggs.
- Unova-based Pokemon will be appearing in the wild
These free events will be available on June 3, right after the Sinnoh Throwback has ended.
