Pokemon Unite has entered Seasoned 2 and with it, are some fresh new contents that add spice to the game.
Dubbed “Sun, Sun, Sunshine,” the battle pass has its theme revolving around Summer, which brings in new skins to select Pokemon. In particular, Bulbasaur and Charmander’s second evolutions, Venusaur and Charizard, respectively.
Pokemon-exclusive skin
As per Pokemon Unite official news, both Venusaur and Charizard will be getting unique accessories, namely Holowear after their namesakes.
First off is Venusaur, which gets the Sunshine Style: Venusaur skin. Equipping the costume gives said Pokemon a vibrant cloth that covers its flower’s leaves and base. It’s an exclusive outfit that gives the massive toad a bit more exotic look.
Lastly, Charizard gets the Adept Style: Charizard costume. Donning this outfit will transform the said Pokemon into a more gentleman and intellectual version of itself. This impression is thanks to the perfect combination of a chic black jacket and a pair of eyeglasses.

Player costume
It is not just the two Pokemon who are getting cool, new getups to wear, however. Even trainers can get their own, too. Still based in the summer theme, the costume lets players equip a Hawaiian shirts and shorts, sunglasses, sandals, and summer upper wear.
While fans might be eager to jump on Pokemon Unite’s latest battle pass, it’s worth noting that there are two unique versions to the same offering. For 490 gems or $5 worth, players will get to avail of the Premium Pass, which grants access to challenges and rewards. And then, there’s the more expensive Premium Pass Plus, which costs 890 gems or equivalent to $8 in real money. Unlike its cheaper counterpart, the PPP offers an automatic augment to player’s battle pass level by 10. Additionally, it is only through the costlier battle pass that the players will gain access to the aforementioned Venusaur and Charizard costumes.
Historically, microtransactions from games have the ill reputation of underscoring the notion of “pay-to-win”. Players may opt for the pricier battle pass. But the game ensures a fair playing field for everyone by making said costumes be purely embellishment in nature. Also, opting for the battle pass grants players around 90 levels of unique challenges, which individually offers rewards per completion.
