Pose season 3 is expected to premiere soon on its home network. But fans will have to remember that some changes will be happening when it returns to the small screen.
Pose season 3 originally ended back in August of last year. Since then, fans have been hoping to see more of it this year 2020.
However, production was suspended in April just after being in the third week of filming. The Ryan Murphy-produced drama had to shut down filming to protect its cast and crew from the COVID-19 virus.
Production shutdown
Pose star Indya Moore spoke to Variety in an interview and opened up about the sudden halt of production.
“When production paused, I wasn’t shocked — I knew it would happen — but it was a bittersweet moment for me,” Moore said.
The main star also expressed worry over the people working for the show.
“On the one hand, if anyone had gotten sick, it surely would have spread fast. On the other hand, most folks working on a production are living paycheck to paycheck. So I was worried about how they are going to survive,” Moore stated.
Moore also admitted that they are “feeling a little bit paranoid about returning to set too soon and frightened about what we will return to.”
But like most shows, Pose season 3 is eventually going to bounce back and return to FX.
Making some changes
The drama series centers on New York City’s African-American and Latino LGBTQ and gender-nonconforming ballroom culture in the ’80s and ’90s.
It also touched on HIV and AIDS during that time, as well as other “juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York.”
The show does not hold back in their acting to depict its stories. But come season 3, it will be a little different from the last two seasons.
Speaking to the same publication, Pose co-creator Steven Canals revealed that they would be making the necessary changes in the set of the show amidst the pandemic.
“Things like kissing — we will likely forgo those moments,” Canals said.
It will not be easy to implement the changes, though, because most of their ball scenes will involve a large number of people.

“Those scenes have 125 to 150 background actors. That’s tricky because that’s such an important and critical part of our show and the narrative,” Canals stated.
We’re just, only now, having conversations of ‘Is there a world where we forgo these things?’”
Further details on Pose season 3 remain uncertain for now, but fans should stay tuned for future updates.
