With the series on hiatus, the pre-order window of Bandai’s upcoming Digimon Adventure Digivice has been delayed several weeks.
More bad news for Digimon fans, especially those who were eager to pre-order Bandai’s brand-new Digmon Adventure Digivice. The premium item’s pre-order window has been delayed, though the good news is it’s only by a few weeks.
Pre-orders of the Digivice were planned for June 2, 2020, but according to a recent report, the date has been moved to June 26.
The report also cited the reason for the delay as “various circumstances,” though it is likely connected to the worldwide coronavirus outbreak.

Digimon Adventure’s hiatus
The Digivice is meant to be the official merchandise of the rebooted Digimon Adventure anime. Unfortunately, just like the Digivice, the animated series was recently delayed as well.
An announcement was made by Toei Animation studio on April 19, 2020, informing fans of Digimon Adventure’s indefinite hiatus, owing to the recent pandemic. The show was only three episodes when the decision was made to shelve it for the foreseeable future.

The return to the Digital World
The 2020 Digimon Adventure Japanese anime is a reboot of the 1999 series of the same name and marks the eighth anime spawned by the Digimon franchise.
The series takes place in 2020, where cyber-attacks run rampant in Tokyo as a consequence of events unfolding in the Digital World—an alternate reality where Digital Monsters (Digimon) exist inside the internet.
As they are gearing up for summer camp, eight kids get sucked into the Digital World where they team up with their respective Digimon partners and get their hands on Digivices. They later find out that they were, in fact, chosen to stop the unseen dangers befalling both worlds.
Digmon Adventure was first announced on January 20, 2020, as a feature in Jump magazine. The series’ first trailer was broadcasted on March 6, which announced the reboot’s April 5 premiere.

Despite only airing three episodes before its hiatus, the anime series has garnered generally favorable reviews so far, holding a 4.5 out of 5 rating on Crunchyroll.
Fans enjoyed Digimon Adventure’s crisp new visuals and called the series more of re-imagining, rather than a faithful reboot of its 21-year-old predecessor.
There has been no update so far as to when the series will get back on track. But eager fans will at least be able to get their hands on the Digimon Adventure Digivice soon, as they wait for their beloved anime series to resume.
