BTS will become the first K-pop group to collaborate with Coldplay to release their new collaboration song on September 24.

Fans of BTS and Coldplay will finally get to witness two of the world’s largest boy bands collaborate on new music for the first time in history.

BTS is the largest K-pop act globally right now and one of the most popular global music groups worldwide. With their recent English songs Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to Dance shattering all sales, view, chart, and award records, there is no sign of BTS slowing down anytime soon.

Five plus seven in a new single

Coldplay, a five-piece rock band, founded in London in 1998, achieved global fame with songs such as Hymn for the Weekend, Paradise, Yellow, and Fix You. Additionally, the band has been called the most successful act of the 2000s.

Coldplay has won many award shows, including the Grammy and Brit Awards. Their debut performance in South Korea took place in 2017 and drew a crowd of 90,000 people.

On September 13, only hours after BTS became the most awarded group at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards despite losing in four deserving categories, Coldplay announced that it soothed many enraged ARMYs.

The staggering pre-order records

Coldplay tweeted the title of their new single featuring BTS, the release date, and the pre-order or pre-save link for the song. The collaboration between Coldplay and K-pop phenomenon BTS will be a historical one.

Warner Music Korea confirmed the song’s release, and both boy bands formally revealed their cooperation by retweeting one another’s tweets. Not only that, BTS released teaser footage of the interaction between the two groups on their official Tiktok account.

Coldplay’s collaboration with BTS, My Universe, has English and Korean lyrics, was written and composed by BTS and Coldplay, and was produced by Max Martin, widely regarded as the pop music industry’s top smash producer.

Additionally, the song will be on Coldplay’s ninth studio album, Music Of The Spheres, published on October 15. Coldplay’s collaboration with BTS is scheduled to premiere on September 24 on all major music outlets.
