Prince Charles was rumored to be divorcing Camilla Parker Bowles because many still don’t like the duchess.
Last year, New Idea published a report alleging that the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall’s marriage was heading to splitsville.
Prince Charles to sacrifice Camilla for the throne
The Prince of Wales has prepared his whole life to be the next king after Queen Elizabeth II. There are speculations that he might reign soon because the monarch would make him the Prince of Regent.
However, once Prince Charles rules, he has to win the love and respect of the public. Unfortunately, many are still not okay with his wife, Camilla.
In Princess Diana’s infamous Panorama interview, she said that Prince Charles had an affair with Camilla while they were still married. The late Princess of Wales’ revelation made it difficult for the masses to accept the Duchess of Cornwall.
“This is a worry for Charles,” a source said.
“I’m surprised Camilla’s ratings are low because several polls in the last couple of years have shown her to be more popular with the public.”
A royal insider added that Prince Charles asked Camilla to scale back. Prince Charles’ future role in the monarchy had reportedly left their marriage on a very shaky ground
Camilla threatened the royal family and demanded $400 million
Globe also published a report claiming that Camilla divorced Prince Charles on his 70th birthday. The duchess’ previous blowouts with the royal family were reportedly among the reasons for their split.
“She’s been fighting the entire family,” the insider added.
Since Camilla knew the darkest secret of the royal family, she allegedly threatened them and demanded a $400 million payout to guarantee her silence. Buckingham Palace tried to negotiate with the duchess.
Prince Charles and Camilla’s divorce debunked
One should take the report with a grain of salt. The reports were published a year ago and Prince Charles and Camilla are still together.
Also, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall even celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on April 9. Clarence House marked the event by sharing an intimate photo of the future king and queen consort on Instagram. In the snap, the royal couple poses with a huge smile on their faces while cuddling their pet dogs Bluebell and Beth.
