Prince Harry allowed several music genres during his wedding to Meghan Markle, except for one.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot in 2018. After officially becoming husband and wife, the reception took place at Frogmore Cottage.
The guests reportedly learned a lot about the royal born prince’s life through his brother’s and father’s speeches. While fans and supporters did not have the chance to witness them, they learned, instead, his taste for music.
As reported, the celebrity DJ, Sam Totolee, who was in charge of the sounds and music for the reception, revealed Prince Harry’s interests and top picks for music, according to Mirror UK.
Prince Harry banned “cheesy music” on his wedding day
Prince Harry reportedly gave the celebrity DJ a list of tracks that should play during the reception. Although his music taste is quite wide, Sam Totolee revealed that the royal instructed him to “avoid” playing “cheesy music.”
He is not a “fan” of it and he banned it from the reception, the reports added. Even so, it remains undisclosed which “cheesy music” the royal was referring to on that day.
DJ Sam Totolee, alongside actor Idris Elba, “DJed” the evening reception. The latter even, later on, shared how the Duke of Sussex invited him to DJ for his wedding.
Meghan, Harry danced to Whitney Houston’s ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first dance was reportedly “surprising,” especially with the choice of the song. Idris Elba reportedly shared that he played Whitney Houston’s ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ for that very segment of the night.
The publication went on to reveal that the track is one of the Duchess of Sussex’s favorites. She even reportedly deemed it as her “happy song.”
Prior to the evening reception at Frogmore Cottage, the Sussex couple reportedly enjoyed Sir Elton John’s music for their “lunchtime reception.” As stated, this took place inside Windsor Castle.
Some of the tracks included ‘Your Song,’ ‘I’m Still Standing,’ and ‘Tiny Dance.’
Duke of Sussex is a fan of Kanye West, Skream
Prince Harry is sure not a fan of “cheesy music” but he is a fan of Kanye West, according to Cheat Sheet. In 2007, he and his brother Prince William “asked” the rapper to take part in a concert for their late mother, Princess Diana. The artist reportedly performed some of his biggest hits on the event.
Aside from the ‘Jesus Walks’ singer, Prince Harry is also a huge fan of “dubstep” music. As stated, he loves Skream from the Magnetic Man band.
