Prince Harry calling First Amendment 'bonkers' is 'lethally stupid': report

Prince Harry commented on the First Amendment calling it “bonkers” and it will surely affect his “entertainment brand,” according to a reputation expert.

Prince Harry called the First Amendment “bonkers” during his interview with Dax Shepard for the Armchair Expert podcast. Several slammed the Duke of Sussex for his remarks and one expert said it was “lethally stupid” and would surely affect his “entertainment brand.”

Prince Harry’s First Amendment remark could affect his brand

Brand and reputation management expert Eric Schiffer believed that Prince Harry was trying to be transparent and authentic with the public when he commented on the First Amendment. However, the California-based expert doesn’t think that his remarks helped the duke’s brand.

Schiffer considered Meghan Markle and her husband’s brand “entertainment” because of their deals with Spotify and Netflix. However, for him, Prince Harry’s statement about the U.S Constitution could hurt his brand.

“It’s lethally stupid, because it only cuts off his base further,” he told Express.

Schiffer went on and explained that the last thing one would is to slice off large swathes of millions of people who can be their potential buyers or sponsors. However, he felt that Prince Harry did that with his controversial remarks.

Prince Harry’s comment on First Amendment

Prince Harry discussed the intrusions of the paparazzi while living in California with Dax Shepard on the Armchair Expert podcast. During their conversation, Prince Harry touched the First Amendment route and admitted that he doesn’t understand it because it’s a huge subject and he has only been living in the U.S. for a short period of time.

However, he noted that there are loopholes in it that one can capitalize or exploit. He added that there are certain elements of the media redefining what privacy means.

“I’ve got so much I want to say about the First Amendment as I sort of understand it, but it is bonkers,” he later added as quoted by Today.

Twitter users have mixed opinions about Prince Harry’s remarks about the First Amendment. Many slammed him but several also supported the duke.

One mocked the duke for calling the First Amendment bonkers saying it was the same amendment that gave him the right of free speech. The same netizen urged Meghan Markle’s husband to just shut up.

Meanwhile, another defended Prince Harry citing American Professor Scott Lucas who listened to the podcast and concluded that the duke has a point with his remarks.
