Prince Harry spoke up about the royal family – specifically Prince Philip – as part of the new documentary on BBC.
BBC prepared a new documentary to highlight Prince Philip’s life, and Prince Harry was among the royals who appeared on the clip.
Months after Prince Philip died, BBC released the first emotional trailer of its new documentary about Prince Philip’s life, titled Prince Philip: The Family Remembers. Prince Harry also appeared on the video and offered an interview alongside the other royal family members.
The documentary reportedly began its production before the Duke of Edinburgh’s passing and was scheduled for release on his supposed 100th birthday in June. Unfortunately, the royal prince is no longer here to see the film.
Still, the creators ensured that the documentary would be full of interviews before and after the duke’s death.
One of the statements was from Prince Harry, who looks emotional when he says, “What you see is what you got with my grandfather. He was unapologetically, him.”
It was the first time Prince Harry ever said something about his late grandfather since he stepped down as senior royal member and moved to Los Angeles.
Before Prince Philip’s death, the Duke of Sussex notably established a close relationship with his grandfather. Since Princess Diana died in 1997, the grandfather protected them from media coverage and public scrutiny 24/7.
Other Members of the Royal Family also paid tribute to Prince Philip
In the same trailer, the other royal family members also speak up about the late royal, including Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall.
Prince William, on the other hand, recalls how Prince Philip had always been the biggest support in everything they do. Meanwhile, Zara says no one prepared to lose him since the duke had always been there.
Prince Charles expressed how lucky the royal family is to have him for nearly 100 years.
“The documentary-makers have been inside Buckingham Palace to meet the Duke’s long-serving staff and to capture his study, private office and library, exactly as they were during his seven decades at the heart of royal life,” the BBC said in a statement, per Town and Country Magazine. “There are poignant recollections, plenty of humour and numerous fresh insights into the character and legacy of this royal pioneer.”
Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers will arrive on BBC One next week, September 22, at 9:00 PM.
