Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, reportedly, aim to “keep the peace” especially after their second child was born.
In the past months, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stirred criticisms among royal watchers due to their interviews. The royal couple continuously revealed royal family secrets and their lives as royals.
Despite that, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tried to make amendments by naming their daughter after the Queen. On June 4, they welcomed their second child they named Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
The nod seemingly expressed their intention to expect the royal family to act as if nothing happened.
Sussexes Want to Maintain Good Relationship
On Thursday, a source told Us Weekly that Prince Harry and Meghan do not regret the interviews they participated in. Still, they hope to keep their relationship with the royal family healthy.
The insider said, “All is not forgiven, but after all the backlash regarding their interviews – which by the way, the pair have no regrets about – they’re trying their utmost to maintain a good relationship with the queen in order to keep the peace.”
For what it’s worth, the 39-year-old former American actress and her husband sat for a tell-all interview. During the March interview with Oprah Winfrey, they shared their dark lives as a royal before and after Archie was born.
Meghan particularly talked about how they saw painful comments about Archie’s skin. She even disclosed her suicidal thoughts when she felt isolated from the royal family.
In addition, the Duchess of Sussex discussed the reason why they chose not to give Archie a royal title.
Duke of Sussex shared same private matters
Prince Harry, for his part, said that they were cut off financially when they decided to depart from the monarchy. He added that the money Princess Diana left behind helped him afford the security for his family.
Following the interview, Buckingham Palace called out the couple and said that their allegations were concerning. It suggested that the racism issues could have been dealt with privately.
Apart from the interview with Winfrey, Prince Harry added more fuel when he joined the Apple TV+ series. The Me You Can’t See tackled his mental health when he lost his mother.
Per the duke, he almost turned to alcohol and drugs due to the amount of emotional stress. He also blamed his father, Prince Charles, for letting the accident happen.
Queen Elizabeth II has not commented on the recent issues yet. But she greeted the two when Lili was born.
