Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will no longer be part of the royal family’s limelight after responding to Buckingham Palace’s statement.
A royal commentator translated Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s statement in response to Buckingham Palace’s official statement.
Following the bombshell Megxit last year, the palace released a message for the first time, confirming that the Sussexes “would not be returning as working members of the royal family.”
“While we are all saddened by their decision, the duke and duchess remain much-loved members of the family,” Queen Elizabeth II added.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex responded to the palace’s decision, saying that they acknowledged the message. Despite that, they pledged that they will still commit themselves to their duty and service to the U.K.
In the same reply, they firmly highlighted that service is universal.
Are Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Angry?
Soon after Prince Harry and Meghan released their response, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that the couple was angry.
“We know they’re unhappy, I totally accept that,” he told Us Weekly. “I’d like to see a more balanced approach. … The language used [and] to appear to lecture the queen … that sort of statement is very unhelpful, but what it showed is how angry they are.”
In the same latest episode of the Royally Us podcast, he added that the pair’s strong words rooted in their exit last year.
Meanwhile, a separate source said the news outlet that Prince Harry and Meghan feel free. Despite the palace’s decision, they have things to look forward to outside the toxic environment.
A separate insider also noted that the Queen hoped that the royal prince and his wife would change their minds. But Fitzwilliams said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex never had second thoughts.
“The queen has made it absolutely clear that they would always be welcome back if they had a change of heart. I don’t think anybody sees any chance of it [happening]. If it happened, I think the royal family would be delighted,” he added.
Sussexes’ Interview
Following this bumpy journey, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to hold their first-ever televised interview. The two are expected to drop shocking details about their rough relationship with the royal family.
The interview with Oprah Winfrey, titled, Oprah With Meghan and Harry, will run for 90 minutes.
“Winfrey will speak with Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure,” CBS said (via Belfast Telegraph).
