Prince Harry, Meghan Markle confirm Royal Family exit

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will no longer return to their royal posts.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially left the British Monarchy earlier in March. Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the senior royals placed the Sussex couple under a 12-month review.

As the one-year assessment nears its conclusion, sources claimed that Buckingham Palace will release its final decision before March 31. On Friday, they dropped an official statement regarding the Sussexes via the Firm’s website.

It stated that the Duke and Duchess would no longer return as working royals, according to BBC. Nevertheless, it emphasized that the couple “remain much loved members” of the British Royal Family.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will lose their royal patronages

Based on the Palace’s announcement, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirmed their decision to Queen Elizabeth. But, it noted that it was the Duke of Sussex who had conversations with the British Monarch.

He told the Queen that it would be impossible for them to “continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service.” Accordingly, they will no longer return as senior working royals in the service of the Queen and the British Throne.

Following the decision, Buckingham Palace revealed that the couple’s honorary military appointments and royal patronages would revert to the Head of the British Monarchy. She will, then, “redistribute” the roles among the rest of the working royals.

These include The Royal Marines, Royal Navy Small Ships and Diving, and RAF Honington. As for the patronages and organizations, these are The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, The Royal National Theater, The Association of Commonwealth Universities, The Rugby Football Union, and The Rugby Football League.

Sussexes “resigned” to losing royal roles

The official statement comes after speculations over Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle’s return emerged earlier this week. Sources claimed that Queen Elizabeth held a series of “emergency meetings” to discuss the deals of Megxit. As stated, the Palace would release confirmations before the deadline in March.

The same royal insider also alleged that the Sussex couple felt “resigned” to losing their royal patronages and honorary titles. But, while they would lose their charitable links, they will retain their royal peerages as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as well as their HRH titles.

Second royal pregnancy

The assertions among the public first sparked following the couple’s pregnancy announcement. They revealed it before their audience during Valentine’s Day.

There is little information as to when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will welcome their second child. The same is also true for the gender of the baby.
