Early reports suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have okayed a reality show project under Netflix.
As part of their reported deal with Netflix, cameras will follow Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they show their lives to the public. This is amid their initial outrage of not having enough privacy in the UK.
The Sun first reported that the reality show was part of their deal with Netflix.
Their source claimed, “They may have had all these lofty ideas about producing epics highlighting environmental causes and the poverty gap, but Netflix obviously want their pound of flesh.”
The outlet suggested that cameras will tail the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for three months as they show a glimpse of their new lives in California and their philanthropic works.
Piers Morgan, the Sussexes biggest critic
British host Piers Morgan mocked Meghan Markle after hearing the claims of their reality show.
On Monday’s “Good Morning Britain,” he dubbed “Deal or No Deal’s” former briefcase girl as the “new Kim Kardashian,” after the former actress wanted people to see the “real her.”
“When will it drop that she came over here, took our prince and the titles, went back to Hollywood. I mean, a £112million deal with Netflix at the back of her royal status,” Morgan said.
The truth about the Sussexes’ documentary
However, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle broke their silence earlier to address their alleged new venture.
A spokesperson for the couple issued a swift denial of The Sun’s claims, telling The Independent, “The Duke and Duchess are not taking part in any reality shows.”
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle for Netflix
The 36-year-old prince and the 39-year-old former “Suits” actress have recently landed a deal with the streaming giant.
In the next few years, people will see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex produce a wide range of content. This includes documentary series, children’s shows, and movies.
The couple didn’t rule out the possibility of appearing in front of the camera, but their main focus is to “create content that informs but also gives hope.”
Though there will be times that they have to be front and center for the documentary, Markle, reportedly, has no plans of reigniting her career in Hollywood.
The couple’s battle with tabloids
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been vocal about their rocky relationship with the British tabloids over the past few years.
Early this year, they announced that they would not be engaging with any more newspapers, including The Sun.
