Prince Harry, Meghan Markle receive mockeries from Princess Diana’s former private secretary

Royal family fans and critics alike question Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to step down as senior royals. A lot of people believe they will only capitalize on their royal fame. So, Princess Diana’s former private secretary, Patrick Jephson, mocked the couple for dreaming to have a celebrity life.

Jephson seemed to be uncertain about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s claim of wanting to have a normal life. They both wanted to escape the spotlight, so they quit as senior members of the royal family. He even mocked the pair by imitating their decision about their HRH titles.

Mocking the Sussexes

“We don’t care about losing the HRH – all we, and our Hollywood best friends, want to put on the invitation cards is the Duke and Duchess bit,” he said. According to New Idea, Jephson was referring to their close friends in Hollywood, like Oprah and the power couples, Jay Z and Beyonce and George and Amal Clooney.

Jephson mocked the Sussexes, calling them “out of touch and borderline desperate” while praising Prince William and Kate Middleton’s decency. “They are currently in the audition of their lives, aspiring to be the toast of Hollywood. But they have chosen a pitiless spotlight – the here today, gone tomorrow favors of the world’s most ruthless chattering class,” he added.

Jephson believed “common sense and decency” would force Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to hunker down with their kid, Archie Harrison. However, despite their effort to stepped down as senior royals, they would still be under the spotlight.

Paparazzi would continuously wait to take their photos in every opportunity they got. In fact, it already happened when they delivered food for people in need in Los Angeles.

“Be ready for more insights on the British response to the pandemic from the poolside prince,” he warned. Jephson believed Prince Harry should return to the United Kingdom to support the royal family in this time of crisis.

Prince Harry’s Supposed Return to the UK

Prince Harry was supposed to return to the U.K for the London Marathon, but the event was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, Express noted. As the patron of the London Marathon Charitable Trust, Meghan Markle’s husband regularly attends the race.

“The world is in an unprecedented situation grappling with a global pandemic of COVID-19 and public health is everyone’s priority,” event director Hugh Brasher announced. “We know how disappointing this news will be for so many – the runners who have trained for many months, the thousands of charities for which they are raising funds, and the millions who watch the race every year.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently in Los Angeles with their son, Archie. They moved to California when they officially stepped down as senior royals on March 31.
