A brand management expert claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are asking for a war with Donald Trump supporters.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved across the globe to continue to build their brand after stepping down as senior royals.
In one of their recent movements, the couple has been incredibly vocal about the upcoming US elections.
They recently appeared in a video urging people to “reject hate speech and racism” and use their voice for the “most important elections of our lives.”
Many people believe they were subtly endorsing Trump’s opponent, Joe Biden.
In the process of sending out a message, they alienated over 40% of potential fans by having a say in the US elections, including topics that “don’t sit well with Americans who are Trump fans.”
Brand and reputation management expert Eric Schiffer told Express, “That is like asking for a war with a part of America at a time when they want to build their brand and create a level of interest as producers and as entertainment creators.”
The expert thinks that it won’t help the Sussexes’ brand and reputation by attacking the POTUS.
“That’s a dog whistle to anyone that says ‘get Republicans out,” Schiffer added, “So the liberals and moderates that don’t like the Trump Administration will take kindly to it.”
However, Schiffer believes that the Republicans will see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as the “out-of-touch celebrities” or those actors who were once primadonnas and suddenly talks about politics.
Sussexes slammed for speaking out
In September, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spoke about the importance of voting in the upcoming US elections.
However, many people have slammed their comments, including Buckingham Palace.
“The Duke is not a working member of the Royal Family, and any comments he makes are made in a personal capacity,” the Palace said in a statement.
People on social media have condemned Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for interfering in US politics.
“Why are a UK prince and his wife getting involved in a US election? What business is it of his,” one person said.
Another one commented, “If Meghan is a registered voter, then she should vote, but I don’t quite get Harry’s participating in all of this. It makes him look idiotic.”
Meanwhile, a Republican lawmaker accused the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of interfering in the November balloting.
Congressman Jason Smith wrote a letter to the British ambassador in the US, demanding that the couple stop interfering with the election.
Prince Harry and Megan Markle are using foreign titles to campaign against President Trump and interfere with our election. Today, I asked the British Government to put a stop to it.

In the letter, he said the Sussexes should stop commenting in the American elections or “be stripped of all titles, styles, and privileges they currently retain.”
Smith also mentioned that what the couple is doing is representing a “breach” of the royal family’s policy of political neutrality.
