Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are, reportedly, going to rake in about $1 million for their speaking engagements. An event manager believes that it might not be the case.
The four-page document Prince Harry and Meghan Markle detailing their list of demands may put their clients off. This is according to a professional events management consultant.
Early this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed with the Harry Walker Agency (HWA). It is an exclusive agency that represents only the best motivational speakers.
The event creator told The Sun, “Harry and Meghan coming on the speaker circuit is certainly as significant as the likes of President Obama or Arnold Schwarzenegger.”
“The pair are fascinating, uniquely experienced individuals,” they continued, “Who have a wide reach, who would have been a huge draw to a live audience pre-COVID.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s previously estimated earnings were about $750k to $1 million. However, the consultant revealed the realistic amount would be between $250k and $400k.

“While every speaker has a right to demand the parameters of an appearance, as the price increases often, so do the expectations of clients,” he said.
The consultant also noticed how the former royals are getting full control of the client’s event. He said, “Not many clients ever like inviting talent as star guests who may be seen as running their event and telling them what to do.”
“It certainly raises eyebrows and will put off many potential large corporations,” the event’s expert added.
Duke and Duchess of Sussex list of ‘burdens’
The leaked document of the couple’s demands is quite a novel.
The Telegraph published the “Virtual Event Request Form” that details the parents of one’s strict stipulations.
“The choice of introducer and moderator will be at the final discretion of the speaker,” one of the statements said.
The event organizers shall also explain how these online speeches will be streamed if technical and technological problems arise.
“The fee will need to be paid directly from the contracting organization’s account.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are also insisting on knowing the details of the event’s sponsors.
“If you were to lose one or more of the above sponsors,” the couple asks, “Would your organization still be able to move forward without this event?”
The expert believes that companies willing to pay the couple $1 million will surely not allow “being bossed around.” These corporations will be turned off by the speakers’ having full control of their events.
