Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are once again in the headlines for buying a sprawling home in Santa Barbara. However, an expert revealed their purchase came at the wrong time.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are maybe now preparing to move to their new $14-million mansion. But, a real estate firm owner believed it was a huge mistake to do it this time.
A price surge in the U.S.
The new figures that the National Association of Realtors revealed showed the “median single-family home price” had increased to 4.2 percent during the second quarter every year. With the decrease in supply, the demand increases, resulting in a price surge in the United States.
According to Express, the same thing happens in Santa Barbara County.
Renee Grubb, owner of the Montecito-based real estate firm Village Properties, told the Santa Barbara News-Press, via Express, that the “local housing market boom is completely shocking.”
“We are seeing jaw-dropping numbers and showings, and they really started spiking in June,” he said. “I can remember a time wherein Montecito, there was inventory in the market that would take two years to sell, and now, I am quoting you just a bit over three months.”
Prince Harry, Markle’s new sprawling mansion
Daily Mail noted Prince Harry and Markle are now officially neighbors with Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres.
In the Santa Barbara property documents that the publication obtained, it revealed their new home’s lavish features.
Bought initially on June 18, it boasts nine bedrooms and 16 baths. Located in upscale Montecito, it is 14,563 square feet of living space, sitting on a 5.4-acre land.
The gate’s entrance will welcome guests into a wide lane pavement with Santa Barbara Stone. It will then lead them to a grand archway of trees to the main house.
The house features a library of its own, office, gym, game room, arcade theatre, wine cellar, and a spa with a separate dry and wet sauna. It also has a five-car garage that will fit Prince Harry and Markle’s vehicles.
If the Duchess of Sussex’s mother, Doria Ragland, wants to stay, the property also comes with a separate guest house with two beds and baths.
True to their desire to live private lives, their home is on a private road, a secluded estate in Montecito, specially designed for privacy with its long driveways and massive gates.
Prince Harry, Markle move out of Tyler Perry’s home
Page Six reported Prince Harry and Markle were moving out of Tyler Perry’s $18-million mansion in July.
A source told the publication that they had secretly been living in their new home since early last month.
“They are not houseguests of Oprah or anyone else, they bought this home themselves,” the insider revealed. “This is where they want to continue their lives after leaving the U.K.”
After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married, this is the very first house that they have ever owned.
