Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly hope their multi-million Netflix deal will pay off and is worth all the risks they take.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently signed a multiyear contract with Netflix to create different content, from feature films to documentaries, close to their hearts. They have also built their own production company that will overlook their future media productions.
Prince Harry, Meghan’s plan to rebrand themselves
A source told Us Weekly the Sussexes see their new deal as a move to rebuild their reputation after the controversial Megxit.
“It was too tempting to resist,” the insider said.
After they completed their royal duties in March, Prince Harry and Meghan moved to Los Angeles with their son, Archie.
Allegedly, the couple intended to move to California to get closer to the “deal makers.” Since then, they had made several calls and virtual meetings with “agents and studio heads.”
They were on the move to “rebrand themselves” after the tumultuous controversies they were into.
“Harry’s determined to make it in Hollywood, just as much as Meghan,” the tipster continued. “He’s focusing on making documentaries connected to good causes — not just on the production side of things.”
Fans would also see the Duke of Sussex in front of the camera, although only as a spokesperson.
In line with their new work, Prince Harry and Meghan wanted to produce content with a “positive purpose.”
“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” they said in a statement. “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us. … [Netflix’s] unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action.”

The tension between Royal Family, Sussexes over Netflix deal
However, rumors have it Prince Harry and Meghan’s Netflix deal only creates more tension within the Royal Family.
According to The Sun, via Marie Claire, several senior royals are against their move to work with a firm that also produces The Crown.
“William and other senior royals are incredibly uncomfortable about this drama,” a source said.
They are all livid, knowing Prince Harry is in partnership with Netflix.
The Royal Family isn’t fond of the streaming giant’s work on The Crown. Things even get worse as its latest season will feature Prince Diana’s struggle with bulimia.
The Princess of Wales tried to hide her condition from the public for so long. However, in a 1995 interview with BBC, she broke her silence.
“It was a symptom of what was going on in my marriage. I was crying out for help, but giving the wrong signals,” she said. “People were using my bulimia as a coat on a hanger: They decided that was the problem—Diana was unstable.”
