Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to the United States last year and decided to stand by their decision. Dickie Arbiter hinted that Prince Harry had no plans of returning home without his own family.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were given a year to decide after Megxit if they would return as working royals or not. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made up their mind and decided to continue living in the United States.
Christopher Wilson, an occasional journalist, and self-confessed royal panjandrum took to Twitter and said the couple’s decision was difficult, especially that “there was the hope that Harry would come home. Alone, perhaps.”
However, Dickie Arbiter, Queen Elizabeth II’s former press spokesman, said the duke had no plans of returning home without his own family.
“Harry had two choices and coming home alone wasn’t one of them,” he commented.
Christopher Wilson’s tweet received mixed responses, with some speculating he was referring to the royal family wanting Prince Harry back without his wife, Meghan Markle. The tweet sparked outrage from Markle’s fans who felt that the royal family didn’t approve of her for Prince William’s younger brother.
Omid Scobie, royal correspondent and author of Finding Freedom, couldn’t help but comment on Wilson’s tweet describing it as nasty and hateful. Wilson responded to Scobie, saying he merely repeats what he was told.
Wilson did not confirm if he was referring to the royal family wanting Prince Harry to return without his wife. However, several Twitter users were convinced that it was his point — that he was confirming the royal family’s desire for Harry to abandon Markle and his wife to favor them.
One netizen said it was clear that the goal was to push Markle out in favor of an English girl. Another user said she read two different papers stating the same thoughts adding that it absolutely wants what they wanted.
Another netizen agreed that the royal family wanted Markle out and attempted to destroy Prince Harry and Markle’s relationship. The user also alleged that Her Majesty and her courtiers knew what they were doing but didn’t anticipate how intelligent Markle was to figure it out quickly.
However, some also defended the Queen. One said the royal family would not wish the Sussexes to suffer a failed marriage just to have Prince Harry back.
