It seems like Prince Charles may wait a little longer to see his youngest son, Prince Harry.
As it turns out, Prince Harry will not be visiting Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth II, and the rest of the royal family for Christmas.
According to The Mirror, the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, with their one-year-old son Archie, will be spending the holidays with his “surrogate” dad, David Foster.
Sussexes to celebrate Christmas in LA
The Sussexes are, reportedly, set to host their own Christmas celebration in their Los Angeles mansion along with the Duke’s “American father figure.”
This is also good news for Meghan, as she will be able to with her mom, Doria Ragland, on Christmas, based in Los Angeles.
An insider revealed to the outlet, “[Meghan is] excited and is planning on doing all the traditions she grew up with as a child, including the cooking.”
David Foster has helped the Sussexes build a new life different from the royals and away from the UK.
Meanwhile, the Canadian record producer’s wife, Katharine McPhee, was one of the former “Suits” star’s friends in high school.
The insider further added, “They want to get on with their new lives. Christmas with Harry’s family is not in the plan.”
The Fosters initially offered to host the Christmas soiree at their home. However, the Duchess volunteered that they host it at their new mansion instead.
“They’ve also invited David and Katherine to spend it with them. David had mentioned Harry and Meghan going to theirs, but Meghan wants it at home,” the insider shared.
Breaking Royal tradition
This is the second time Prince Harry and Meghan Markle broke royal tradition.
Last year, the couple spent Christmas away from the British royal family, as they spent last year’s festivities in Canada with Doria and Archie.
Sussexes’ new life
News of Prince Harry and his family not coming home to see Prince Charles for the holidays comes after another source revealed that the Sussexes are happy with their new life in California.
Talking to Vanity Fair’s Katie Nicholl, the source suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are perhaps trying to avoid tensions after their fall out with Prince William, Kate Middleton, and the rest of the British royal family.
The source explained, “Let’s just say that while things are better between Harry and his brother, it’s not what it was, and I don’t think anyone is ready for a cozy family Christmas right now.”
“They want to get on with their new lives. Christmas with Harry’s family is not in the plan,” the source told Katie.
