Katie Nicholl claimed the two princes are now “getting along much better” amid the “rocky path” they have faced together. However, it is still unlikely that Prince Harry and Prince William will spend the upcoming holidays together.
Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight the royal siblings spoke to each other on the Duke of Sussex’s birthday.
“It’s no secret that it’s been a rocky path between the two brothers,” she said. “But I actually think the distance has been a good thing for them.”
The two have been speaking to each other more often than they did before.
“I think it will be some time before we see them having possibly a cozy Christmas together,” Nicholl continued. “But I think things are definitely better than they were.”
Prince Harry is now in the U.S. He is with Meghan Markle and their kid, Archie, after the Sussexes stepped down as senior royals in March.
Since then, rumors have it the two dukes have an ongoing feud, fuelled by the controversial book Finding Freedom.
Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claimed the tension between them began when the Duke of Cambridge gave his brother some advice.
At the time, Prince Harry reportedly found the future king “snobbish” after he told him not to rush his relationship with Meghan, Express noted.
This ordeal, allegedly, was the reason behind the barely speaking terms between the Sussexes and Cambridges at their final royal engagement at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey.
Before that, they didn’t speak with each other at all for two months after the couple dropped their bombshell announcement in January.
Prince Harry and Prince William both cut their communication after the controversial Megxit. According to Daily Mail, their relationship “would take time to heal.”
However, Prince William and Kate shut down all the rift rumors when they greeted his younger sibling on his birthday.
They shared a photo of them on Instagram while at a London Olympic Stadium. In the snap, Prince Harry was sprinting away from them.
“Wishing a very happy birthday to Prince Harry today!” they captioned the snap.
However, social media users still tried to make some issue out of it.
Some said Prince William and Kate shaded Meghan for leaving her out of the photo of Prince Harry. Some came to the Cambridges’ defense, insisting it was a harmless post.
