Prince Harry: Duke’s rumored ex almost played Meghan Markle’s ‘Suits’ role

Prince Harry's rumored ex almost played Meghan Markle's 'Suits' role

Jenna Coleman and Prince Harry allegedly dated.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first met in 2016. Two years later, they tied the knot and officially became the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Before the former actress’s arrival, though, the royal-born Prince had several rumored romantic links. One of them was a British actress, Jenna Coleman.

During that time, Markle was still playing Rachel Zane on Suits, which reports have since deemed as her “big break.” What is “weird,” though, is that Coleman almost bagged the character after she auditioned for it, according to Cheat Sheet.

Jenna Coleman did not land the role of Rachel Zane

Jenna Coleman has become quite popular for her role as Clara Oswald in Doctor Who. But before she received the part, she first auditioned for Suits for Rachel Zane’s character.

ScreenRant reported that, while she did not land the part, she did not miss out much. As stated, her stint in Doctor Who became her big break, adding that she earned a far bigger fan base through it.

Amid all the talks about Coleman and Markle, alongside Prince Harry, reports noted that it was a simple “coincidence” that they aimed for the same role.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support.” – The Duke and Duchess of Sussex For more information, please visit (link in bio) Image © PA

Did Prince Harry date Jenna Coleman?

Before marrying Meghan Markle, Prince Harry became the subject of many dating rumors. It makes total sense, though, as he was a bachelor and a British royal.

One of the women who was linked to him was the Doctor Who star. They first met in a polo match at Ascot in 2015, according to the Daily Express.

At that time, Jenna Coleman was still dating Game of Thrones star, Richard Madden. But despite her long-term relationship with the British actor, sources continued to develop rumors that she and the Duke of Sussex were “flirting” on the night of their meeting.

Photos of the two personalities made public after. The publication said they were “chatting” and “looking very friendly” as they sat comfortably on a sofa.

A source described the interaction as “very flirty,” adding that it was a “tactile encounter” between the Duke and Jenna Coleman. However, reports shared that it was “ironic” because the royal-born Prince was “largely responsible” for the actress and his current boyfriend, Tom Hughes’ relationship.

Nevertheless, Prince Harry reportedly asked for her number and saw each other a couple of times following their first meeting. As for Hughes and Coleman, they started dating during the same year.
