Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been married for two years already. However, many had doubts about the latter’s suitability for the former.
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, are always a picture of a happy couple. They couldn’t get their hands off each other. However, behind the scenes, many were not confident that Markle was the best pair for Prince Harry.
Prince Harry was hurt over friend’s doubt about Markle
A new book about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle entitled Finding Freedom is coming out this week. An insider told the authors of the book that the Duke of Sussex’s childhood best friend, Tom “Skipp” Inskip, wasn’t very sure about Markle for him.
Inskip had some reservations with Prince Harry’s choice of the bride, and the latter was hurt.
The source said the advice “came from a good place.” However, Prince William’s younger brother “didn’t totally see it that way,” Express reported.
“It really hurt him that someone he was so close to would not trust his judgment,” the tipster added.
There were claims that Prince Harry had banished out Inskip from his inner circle of friends.
“Hang out with the Clooney/Beckham/Soho House set and be assailed for being too Hollywood, for forcing your hen-pecked husband to abandon his old, country-set muckers – including Tom ‘Skippy’ Inskip, the ultra-loyal, tight-lipped Harry pal, who, it’s said, advised Harry not to marry Meghan and has paid the price: banishment,” Tatler reported.
Inskip and Harry reconnected
In July 2019, Prince Harry reconciled with his childhood best friend after the latter’s mother-in-law passed away.
“Skippy and Harry are back as tight friends. When Harry heard about Lara’s mother’s horrible passing, it really hit a nerve,” a source told The Sun.
“Lara has raised money to support research into mental health and Harry decided to let bygones be bygones.”
Harry stood by Meghan against Prince William
Other sources claimed that aside from Prince Harry’s best friend, his brother, Prince William, had the same opinion about Meghan Markle.
The future king advised his younger brother to slow down with his romance with Suits star. However, Prince Harry went “mental” after hearing his brother’s opinion. He felt that Prince William wasn’t supportive of him, and it triggered their feud.
“Harry went mental,” a source told Emily Andrews. “He accused his brother of trying to finish his romance before it had begun. The brothers’ relationship has not really recovered.”
“A lot of people in the family objected. Who really knows what the concerns were? Was it Meghan’s background? Her father and dreadful half-sister? Because she was an outspoken American? Divorced?” the source said. “Harry stood up for Meghan very forcibly. He really loves her,” the courtier added.
