Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is delayed yet again and this time, the remake will come next year 2022. Not only that, the game won’t be around in E3 next week.
The much-awaited revamp Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is confirmed to not come after many development delays. The game, which scheduled to release early this year, now targets 2022 according to an announcement.
Sands of Time remake criticized for trailer issues
A Sands of Time remake has been a topic across fans for the last year. The original rumors swirled around early June and continued until September. During the time, more details came out, including a confirmation from Ubisoft itself.

The game is under development with their India team, which received criticism during this time. Fans who saw the trailer found the graphics to be of low quality, with visual aesthetics that are incomparable to current standards.
Much of the aesthetics for the game were below what fans expected. The graphical fidelity was questionable too, so fans expected development will be turbulent.
In a Twitter post, Ubisoft announced Sands of Time would need more time. The post said they don’t have anything to share on the reason of the delay.
“Ubisoft Forward is around the corner and we wanted to use this time to thank you for the amount of support you have show us in the past year,” said the reveal from Ubisoft.
“As you might have already read, Price of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will not be in Ubisoft Forward. We are making great progress for our game to release next year, but we are not ready to share any additional information just yet”.
Delay for Prince of Persia up for debate
The delay for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is problematic for a number of reasons. The lack of information on the delay opens the game’s development to speculation. Even then, the team is likely looking to add much-needed polish to the title.
The game will also be absent from the Ubisoft Forward E3 2021. With a lack of development information, it’s unlikely for the team to have something to share then.
Ubisoft originally delayed the game back in January, only a few weeks from the target release date. After a few weeks, Ubisoft pushed back the release date of the game into a nebulous “at a later date”.
More information about Prince of Persia: Sands of Time should come in the months to come. Whether this will be the brand new release date or development information is still a mystery.
