Prince William contracted the COVID-19 virus last year, and he made a massive move this time to safeguard himself.
Prince William did his part in protecting the other members of the royal family by receiving his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Prince William finally obtained his first dose of vaccine months after testing positive for the virus. The Duke of Cambridge himself announced the news through his and his wife Kate Middleton’s official social media accounts.
Prince William’s first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
On the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Twitter and Instagram account, Prince William confirmed that he made an appointment for the jab. He shared a photo of him holding up the sleeves of his blue top for the vaccination.
“On Tuesday I received my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine,” Prince William wrote. “To all those working on the vaccine rollout – thank you for everything you’ve done and continue to do.”

He also penned messages for the healthcare workers who continuously combat the dreaded virus. In addition, he mentioned the scientists who assisted everyone in receiving vaccines across the country.
He became the latest royal family to receive the vaccine. Initially, his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II already obtained the first dose in January and received the second one soon after.
Prince Philip also got his vaccine before he passed away in April due to “old age.”
For what it’s worth, Prince William contracted the virus last year and received backlash for hiding the truth. But right now, the internet users flocked online to acknowledge his vaccinated arm.
Duke of Cambridge also receives thirst tweets!
Apart from receiving the vaccine, the duke also invited “thirst” tweets due to his arm’s buffness.
One Twitter user retweeted the same photo and commented, “Good morning to Prince William and Prince William’s vaccinated arm.”
Another one added, “I never thought of Prince William having those arms. I feel like I’m having inappropriate thoughts he’s already King in my mind.”
Meanwhile, HuffPost UK’s journalist Jess Brammar also joined the hype and said, “Sad to see I’m being ghosted by @journoramzy after he described my WhatsApp about Prince William having surprisingly nice arms as my worst ever content.”
While Prince William’s arm invited more attention than expected, royal watchers hope that this could help them spread awareness. The importance of the COVID-19 vaccine will reach more people, as well, as the future king finally got his dose.
