Prince William was not furious with Prince Charles for buying Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a home, because he didn’t, and there was no confrontation between the father and son despite claims.
National Enquirer claimed that Prince William confronted Prince Charles over the Sussexes’ new property. However, one should take the report with a grain of salt because it is not true.
Prince William allegedly confronts dad Prince Charles
National Enquirer published a report quoting unnamed sources about Prince William and Prince Charles’ alleged confrontation.
The Duke of Cambridge was reportedly furious after learning that the Prince of Wales funded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Santa Barbara home. Kate Middleton’s husband felt that they were being rewarded after abandoning the royal family.
“When he learned Charles had financed the renegades new home, he exploded and confronted his dad,” the source said.
Moreover, Prince William was reportedly seething about the Finding Freedom. The future king was allegedly convinced that his brother and sister-in-law were involved in it.
However, with National Enquirer’s reputation for publishing articles based on the statements of its undependable sources, this could be another groundless claim waiting to be debunked. So, avid followers of the royal family should take these hearsays lightly until everything is proven true and correct.
Prince Harry can buy his own home
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop debunked the report. The outlet noted that Prince Harry has enough money to buy a home. It refuted the tabloid’s claim that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex couldn’t afford to buy a house, and Prince Charles was happy to help.
The rumor-debunking site pointed out Prince Harry’s inheritance from Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth II, and the Queen Mother.
Gossip Cop also noted the tabloid’s questionable history. National Enquirer made wrongful claims in the past about Queen on her death bed. It also creates non-existent dramas among the royal family members.
What the royal expert said
Meanwhile, Omid Scobie, author of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s biography Finding Freedom, spoke about their home. According to him, Prince William’s brother purchased it without Prince Charles’ help.
They took out a mortgage to afford their home in Montecito.
“There’s been a lot of speculation about Prince Charles potentially funding this,” Scobie told Entertainment Tonight. “But this is really a moment for them to find their independence. They’ve done this on their own.”
“Like many couples, they have a mortgage. It is a peaceful home. It’s a forever home and somewhere where they’ll lay their roots. It has space for Archie, a playground. Really, it’s gonna be a special part of their life.”
