Prince William surely has his own reasons why he chose not to disclose his COVID-19 diagnosis. However, people could not understand why he did so.
The number of coronavirus disease patients in the UK continues to rise, and Prince William was once a patient, too.
This week, multiple outlets confirmed that the future King of England got tested positive for COVID-19 in April.
The news did not spread out at that time as the palace doctors treated him at the royal residence instead. The Duke of Cambridge also followed the government’s protocol by isolating himself at his home in Norfolk.
Meanwhile, a source told The Sun that Prince William chose not to reveal it since he did not want people to worry.
His father, Prince Charles, and Prime Minister Boris Johnson previously contracted the disease. So for Prince William, it would be a total headache if he would tell people about his health status.
However, despite his thoughtfulness, a royal commentator suggested that the event only caused people to doubt him as future King.

Following the shocking news, Robert Jobson wrote that the recent cover-up was a different form of lying.
“Prince William’s decision to LIE about contracting COVID-19 earlier – for whatever reason – is appalling,” he posted on Twitter.
The media already asked Kensington Palace several times whether the royal prince got struck by the disease. Unfortunately, they only answered “no,” creating a serious issue about trust.
Jobson also pointed out that the Palace is ready to lie to cover some serious issues. Thus, it would do the same thing again in the future.
What others said
Other royal experts seconded Jobson’s statement, saying that cover-ups are always more damaging.
Per Patricia Treble, breaking Prince William’s disease six months later is questionable enough. Daily Express royal correspondent Richard Palmer also saw the cover-up as something that will forever haunt the future King.
“If the future King contracts a potentially fatal virus that the entire world is worried about during a lockdown and he and those around him cover it up, that raises serious questions about whether we can trust anything he or his advisers say,” he went on.
Meanwhile, out of all criticisms the duke received, one royal editor supported him and understood his reason.
According to Chris Ship, Prince William only hid that he tested positive for COVID-19 to avoid raising alarm.
The UK remains on the list of countries that have a high number of COVID-19 cases worldwide.
