Prince William and Prince Harry failed to fully reconcile before the statue unveiling to honor their late mother, Princess Diana.
Ahead of Princess Diana’s birthday, Prince William and Prince Harry tried to keep in touch to plan for the event. However, their relationship, reportedly, remained strain.
One of their close friends gave an update about the royal brothers’ relationship status after facing tumultuous years. According to Katie Nicholl, the royals’ friend told her that things failed to improve despite communicating in the past weeks.
“There have been conversations after Lili was born and to make plans for next week, but things are still very strained,” she told Vanity Fair on Tuesday.
The insider added that the Duke of Sussex will return alone on July 1 to mark Princess Diana’s 60th birthday.
Meanwhile, the news outlet revealed that Queen Elizabeth II badly wants to see baby Archie. Unfortunately, the two-year-old will be staying at their home in California with Meghan and his sister, Lili.
Meghan Markle Worried About Prince Harry’s Return
While the Duke of Sussex’s participation is already final, his wife, reportedly, feels concerned about the royal’s solo trip.
Per their pal, Meghan is worried about the reception Prince Harry will receive in the country following their bombshell interviews. For what it’s worth, the duke, reportedly, received a “frosty welcome” from the family members during Prince Philip’s funeral.
Some royal family members still feel the “reeling” after they appeared in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. So to keep things smooth and peaceful, they did not walk side by side during the procession.
The same thing will happen next month as they do not want the media to create more fuss about their relationship. The brothers will also deliver their speeches separately.
“They know the eyes of the world will be on them – watching their every move – so what you will see is a carefully choreographed show of unity for that day, at least,” a source said, as quoted by Fox News.
Throughout his stay, Prince Harry will highly likely stay at Frogmore Cottage. He will stay close to Queen Elizabeth II and his cousin, Princess Eugenie.
It remains unknown how long he will stay in the country. But royal author Ingrid Seward predicted that the duke will spend one day with the Queen for lunch. However, the monarch will, reportedly, not talk about the current matters.
