Prince William has, reportedly, received an offer to replace Prince Harry on one crucial role.
Out of several royal family members, Prince William got an invitation to be the next Captain General of Royal Marines. The role remains available for months now ever since the monarchy stripped the title of from the royal prince following Megxit.
Initially, the Duke of Sussex tried to unroll negotiations with the royal family after deciding to withdraw his senior royal position in January.
However, Queen Elizabeth II and the whole monarchy required him to give up his military honors, including the Captain General of Royal Marines.
Did Prince William Take the Role?
According to Express UK’s sources, officials approached the Duke of Cambridge to fill in the role. Prince William, as the future king, reportedly, showed interest in the offer.
“The decision has been made to invite Prince William to take over this important duty, largely on the basis that the Duke of Sussex has given no reason to believe that he will alter current arrangements. Quite the opposite, in fact,” the source went on.
The insider also mentioned that the Corps is currently in effect without a Captain-General. Because of this, someone really needs to fill the role as soon as possible.
In December 2017, Queen Elizabeth II handed the role to Prince Harry, succeeding Prince Philip. It became his highest-profile military title before he officially gave up his royal appointments in March 2020.

Prince Harry Regretting Megxit?
Aside from Captain General of Royal Marines, Prince Harry also lost other titles he once held. It included Honorary Air Commandant, Royal Naval Commandant, RAF Honington, and Commodore-in-Chief — Small Ships and Diving.
Soon after he let them go, multiple news outlets reported that it made him feel miserable that he now regrets his decision.
In April, The Daily Telegraph reported that the duke told his friends that his life “has been turned upside down.”
Prince Harry said that it all started when he lost the military connection and service titles he used to have.
“Harry has told friends he is really missing the army as well as his military appointments,” the insider told the media outlet. “He misses the camaraderie of being in the forces.”
He felt the happiest when he was serving the army. However, due to Megxit, he never knew that things like that would happen.
