Prince William told the Queen he wasn't sure he loved Kate Middleton: Report

Prince William wasn’t sure about his feelings for Kate Middleton at one point before he proposed to her, according to a report.

Prince William and Kate Middleton dated for almost a decade before he proposed. The royal couple also split twice before he proposed. Apparently, there was a time when the Duke of Cambridge wasn’t sure about his feelings for Middleton.

Prince William was allegedly unsure if he loved Kate

Kate Middleton and Prince William celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in April. However, things were not that simple way back and there were times when the future king wasn’t sure if Middleton would be his queen.

Express revisited Prince William’s conversation with the Queen when he confided to her about his feelings toward Middleton. After their second breakup in 2007, there were rumors that he would propose to Middleton on her 25th birthday.

At the time, he allegedly felt claustrophobic in their relationship. They split for a couple of months before getting back together. However, royal correspondent Camila Tominey claimed that there was another reason behind the split and it was his feelings toward her.

“After they split up, William confided to his grandparents that he was not sure if he loved Kate enough,” Tominey said.

When they got back together, the Queen wanted Prince William to do the right thing — either marry Middleton or let her go. Her Majesty would rather see them break up for good than marry and divorce later. She believed that if Middleton was the one for her grandson, a five-year courtship would be long enough.

Prince Philip seemingly shared his wife’s point of view. The late Duke of Edinburgh allegedly told William that he could not keep stringing her forever.

William’s proposal and royal wedding

Prince William eventually pop the big question to Kate Middleton in 2010. He proposed to her during a trip to Kenya.

The future king decided to make the move in Africa because the continent holds a special place in his heart. He asked her hand in marriage while they wre in a “rustic and ultra-private” Rutundu log cabin.

Prince William gave Middleton his mom Princess Diana’s engagement ring. The duke said he made it to ensure that his mom would still be part of the event.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot on April 29, 2011. They are happily married with three adorable kids — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
