Prince William tried to save his brother, Prince Harry, before Megxit happened. However, the younger royal prince disapproved of his thoughts instead.
Royal watchers expect Prince William and Prince Harry to reconcile on Princess Diana’s supposed 60th birthday. The brothers will appear at the same event as they unveil the statue of their late mother at Kensington Palace.
But before their reunion, the royals started their first-ever feud when the Duke of Cambridge gave his brother advice.
When Prince Harry started dating Meghan Markle, the first reserve to the throne expressed his concerns over the “quick” development. Prince William also said that the pair had not spent enough time together yet.
When Prince William found out that his brother already planned to propose, he told him that it could harm his royal life.
Since that incident, they began to have more feuds that eventually predicted the occurrence of Megxit.
In 2018, Emily Andrew told The Sun that the Duke of Sussex was already head-over-heels. But his brother wanted him to take it slowly.
“William told his brother they knew nothing about her background, her intentions, what she was really like,” a source, reportedly, said.
The future King only wanted to make Prince Harry realize that becoming a royal family member is a huge responsibility. He also warned him of the public pressure and media scrutiny.
Was Meghan Markle the right one for Prince Harry?
The same source noted that Prince Harry did not receive Prince William’s question that well. Instead of understanding his brother’s part, the royal prince, reportedly, went mental and dropped accusations against the other royal.
The Duke of Sussex particularly accused his brother of trying to ruin his romance before it even began.
Since then, their relationship started to reach rock bottom even more.
Meanwhile, royal author Ingrid Seward told Channel 5’s documentary, William & Harry: Princes At War? that Prince Harry hardly knew Meghan.
As their feud grows further, an expert revealed that the misunderstanding could “topple” the monarchy.
Author Anna Pasternak told Vanity Fair that the Sussexes feud with the royals could ignite the end of the monarchy. She predicted that it could also result in a massive change in the current line of succession once Queen Elizabeth II dies.
“It may be that there is such a groundswell of public opinion against [Charles] that it’s deemed by the firm preferable for William to ascend then because he’s younger, more relatable,” she explained.
