Princess Anne crowned as 2020’s ‘hardest working royal’

Share

Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth came in second and third, respectively, to Princess Anne.

Princess Anne is the 14th person in line to the British Throne. Despite having little to no chance of becoming a monarch in the future, she has never stopped working for the Queen and for the Crown.

Through the years, the Princess Royal has already completed thousands of royal engagements and appearances. In fact, she always tops the list of the most hardworking British Royals. This is why it is not surprising that she has, once again, obtained the “crown” of being 2020’s “hardest working royal,” according to the Daily Express.

Princess Anne carried out 148 engagements

SavoyStewart.co.uk analyzed the data and obtained the latest figures for the British Royal with the highest number of working days and official engagements in 2020. Based on the figures, Princess Anne had a total of 148 official duties.

Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth came in second and third places. They carried out a total of 146 and 136 royal engagements, respectively.

The Princess Royal completed her duties and responsibilities in a total of 145 days. This also places her on top of the list, against her brother’s and her mother’s.

A spokesperson for the commercial property agents, later on, stated that the figures only indicate that “age is no obstacle” for the senior working royals. Moreover, the family’s “fierce dedication” and commitment to the Crown remain to be one of their greatest legacies, Darren Best noted.

Prince Charles “eclipsed” her sister in 2019

Princess Anne has been named the hardest working royal several times already. But, in 2019, Prince Charles obtained the honor as he surpassed her sister’s annual tally.

The Heir Apparent completed a total of 521 public appearances and engagements for the year, according to Town and Country. The number is 15 more than the Queen’s daughter’s 506.

Despite this, though, some publications still named the Princess Royal the most hardworking royal of the year. This came after her total number of working days surpassed the Prince of Wales’.

ABC News reported that the royal-born Princess put in a total of 167 days. Against her brother’s 125, she worked 42 days more than him.

New royal status this 2021

The Queen’s daughter will face a few changes this year. A separate report from the Daily Express explained that she will have a new royal status come February.

As explained, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will welcome their first child on the said month. This means that there will be a “shift” in the line of succession once the baby arrives.

All the British Royals under the Yorks’ placements will have to move one spot lower. These include Princess Anne, who will, then, become the 15th person in line to the British Throne.
