Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, gifted Kate Middleton a precious gold bracelet with the first initial of their names engraved. But if Princess Diana were alive today, she would surely not like it.
The charm in question had two Cs on each side—C for Catherine and another C for Camilla—and a crown. However, this gift seemed similar to the bracelet Princess Diana saw Prince Charles was wearing from Camilla.
The close bond between Kate, Camilla
In the piece that Ainhoa Barcelona wrote for Hello! Magazine, she revealed the said band was Kate’s favorite.
“[It] shows the strong bond the Duchess shares with Prince Charles’ wife,” she said.
However, if Princess Diana would see this gift, it might remind her of Prince Charle’s relationship with Camilla when they were still married.
According to Express, the Prince of Wales continued his romance with Camilla five years after she tied the knot with Princess D.
The People’s Princess seemed to be suspicious of the two’s real relationship since their honeymoon.
She noticed that they still have an extraordinary close friendship.
The two Cs on Prince Charles’ bracelet frustrate Princess Diana
In an interview with Andrew Morton, the People’s Princess claimed she knew there was another person involved in her marriage from the very start.
She saw her husband wearing cufflinks with two Cs on it when they got married.
“On our honeymoon, cufflinks arrive on his wrists,” Princess Diana said. “Two C’s entwined like the Chanel’ C’. Got it. One knew exactly.”
When she asked Prince Charles if Camilla gave it to him, he didn’t deny the truth.
“‘He said, ‘Yes, so what’s wrong? They’re a present from a friend,'” Princess Diana continued. “And boy, did we have a row. Jealousy, total jealousy.”
She commended the idea of giving the future king a bracelet with two Cs, but she found it not wise.
Hence, if Princess Diana would only see Kate’s charm from Camilla, it would surely remind her of the hurt from the past.
Kate wins over Tatler
Meanwhile, Kate won over Tatler for claiming a number of digs against her family. According to Mirror Online, the lifestyle magazine made a series of “cruel lies” about her mother, Carole Middleton, and sister, Pippa Middleton.
Carole was linked to a TV character, Hyacinth Bucket. It also asserted they were “snobby.”
So, Kensington Palace called in its lawyers. What most angered the family was calling Kate “perilously think” and comparing her to Princess Diana.
They asked those inaccurate reports and false representations about Kate Middleton to be removed, and they succeeded.
